CCE is continuous and comprehensive evaluation system which has brought new changes in the field of education. The CBSE board has introduced this system through which students’ learning abilities are evaluated in a detailed manner. This system measures students’ efficiency in different aspects. Consequently, the board takes suitable remedial steps to enhance students’ performance in exams. According to CCE system, students need to go through formative and summative assessments. These assessments are designed to determine students’ learning problems and efficacy. The entire academic session is divided into 2 term exams. In each term exam, two formative assessments and one summative assessment are included to measure students’ performance. The board has prescribed well-evaluated syllabus with relevant topics and the entire syllabus is also bifurcated into two parts and each part needs to be completed in one term. Hence, students’ expertise in terms of subject knowledge is assessed on the basis of syllabus included in each term.


Class 10 is an important class and keeping in mind students’ requirements, the syllabus for class 10 is well-designed by subject experts associated with the CBSE board, a renowned educational board of India. The required subjects and their essential topics are sequentially incorporated in the syllabus. Hindi A, Hindi B, Social science, English communicative, English language and literature and Science and Mathematics are included in this syllabus. The entire syllabus for class 10 is divided into two parts and each part is taught for each term exam. The first part needs to be completed before first term exam. Based on this specified syllabus, students’ expertise and abilities are assessed through several formative and summative assessments in each term.
